Abstract

We propose to combine the study of soil humidity dynamics, the mathematical modeling vegetables growth, and environmental data to calibrate and validate the models in order to design an optimal control system for the irrigation system of some vegetables.

Professor Marco Ivan Ramirez-Sosa obtained the first degree in Electronics Engineering at the Tecnologico de Durango and received the “Adolfo Lopez Mateos” Medal. He obtained in 1997 and 1999, with scholarships of CONACYT, the MSc and PhD degrees in Automatic Control from CINVESTAV Zacatenco in which he received the Best Doctoral Thesis Award in Technology and Science Engineering “Arturo Rosenblueth 1999” From January 2001 to October 2002 he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The TECHNION in Haifa, Israel in the faculties of Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering, working in the NICOLET (Nitrate Control in Lettuce) Project. He worked from 1997 to 2006 at Tec de Monterrey Campus Estado de Mexico and Campus Saltillo from 2006 to 2010 as Researcher. He visited Cinvestav Saltillo 2006-2007 & 2011 as a Researcher. He is now a senior member of IEEE and Chair of the Professional Chapter of the Robotics & Automation Society in Monterrey Section. He is currently Chairman of the Council of the Graduate Programs of Mechatronics at Tecnologico de Nuevo Leon.
